What is an inventor's Co-op?

The Inventor’s Circle is a not-for-profit organization with the goals of assisting private individuals in developing their ideas, facilitating and advancing innovation in general, and boosting the Canadian economy through new, original products/services without competition. To achieve this goal we chose the non-profit co-operative structure because it allows us to reach out and unite independent innovators, creative entrepreneurs, and related professions and trades. They can all interact under a large comprehensive, safe and affordable “umbrella”.

To bring together creative talent from the general public and unite beginners and advanced innovators in strength. To foster openness, discussion, innovation and sharing between inventors, industry, business and investors to generate success and make the world a better place.
The focus of The IC Co-op is to educate on all areas of inventing; to motivate members to create, encourage innovation, teach lateral thinking, inform about pitfalls and classic mistakes, guard against and repel those who try to take advantage of inventors, strengthen the link between innovation and success and inspire greatness. We also provide assistance for inventors in business development, patent searches, market assessment, intellectual property protection and grant and loan acquisition and selling inventions.
1 | Inventor’s Circle does not provide assistance for inventions that are non-medicinal drugs, pornography, or any other product or service deemed to be illegal, dangerous, or illicit.
2 | Inventor’s Circle does not assist inventors with inventions that are unethical or potentially harmful in any way to the general population, the environment or animals.

Message from the President

  • Hi, I'm Bob Huybrechts, the founder and President of the public cooperative known as The Inventor's Circle. It is with great pride that we are able to provide inspiration and resources for innovators and inventors in bringing their ideas to reality. Our meetings and the events we share with members are full of exciting information and contacts that you will find valuable and rewarding. Whether you are fully involved in a private venture, or only have the seeds of an idea in mind, or are merely curious about: science & technology, nature & the environment, social progress, marketing, business & financing, production methods or research and development, you will benefit from the wide range of topics we cover. Thank you for visiting our website and I hope to see you soon at an upcoming seminar.

    Bob Huybrechts, President

Our Chapters

The Toronto chapter of the Inventor’s Circle holds meetings each month.

Expert guest speakers are arranged well in advance of every meeting, speaking on topics of interest to inventors with practical, useful information that supports the innovation process and enhances skills and knowledge. These topics range from development and prototyping, to manufacturing, marketing and financing and more.

Some are industry experts in a specific field and others are established entrepreneurs who share how they became successful with their products or services.

Our goal is to provide information and assistance to both experienced entrepreneurs as well as home workshop inventors and garage tinkerers, with great ideas, who want to learn how to get them to market.
